This experimental piece is based on the reinterpretation of the Biblical story of the Tower of Babel. Created by a spontaneously chosen multi-ethnic community, the necklace features 53 personal pronouns (I, you, he/she, we, etc.) in 16 different languages. I asked on the streets of Budapest people with diverse linguistic and cultural background to write a word on their native language on the raw metal by hand. This unpredictabke and unrepeatable act was subsequently transferred into a piece of jewelry.

 

The work was awarded 3rd prize at the National Student Metalsmith Competition.
